Unisort Ltd is committed to providing high-quality products and excellent customer service. This Product Warranty outlines the terms and conditions regarding warranty coverage for products purchased from Unisort Ltd and used within the United Kingdom.
Product images are for illustration purposes only and product specifications may vary from the products supplied.
Warranty Coverage
All products purchased from Unisort Ltd are supplied with a standard five-year (60-month) warranty from the original invoice date. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser.
The warranty covers faults arising within the warranty period that are directly caused by proven manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship affecting the structural integrity, safe operation or intended function of the product.
Extended Warranty Registration
An extended ten-year (120-month) warranty is available for:
• Unisort Climate Recycling Stations
• Unisort Aspire Recycling Stations
• Unisort Cup Collector Recycling Stations
The extended warranty applies only where the product is registered with Unisort within 30 days of the original purchase date using the approved warranty registration process.
Manufacturing Defect Definition
For the purposes of this warranty, a manufacturing defect means a fault in materials or workmanship that materially affects the structural integrity, safe operation or intended function of the product.
Cosmetic deterioration, surface finish deterioration, colour variation, weathering, staining, oxidation, surface corrosion, scratches, dents, abrasions or other appearance-related issues that do not materially affect the structural integrity or intended function of the product shall not constitute a manufacturing defect.
Products Manufactured from Recycled Materials
Many Unisort products are manufactured using recycled materials and feedstocks. As a result:
• Product colours may vary slightly between production batches.
• Minor surface marks, texture variations and cosmetic imperfections may occur.
• Natural variations in appearance are an inherent characteristic of recycled-content products.
These characteristics do not constitute manufacturing defects.
Outdoor Metal Products and Surface Finishes
Some products manufactured from steel and supplied with painted, coated or powder-coated finishes are designed for normal commercial use, including external environments.
Exposure to weather, airborne contaminants, coastal or marine conditions, salt, chemicals, pollutants, excessive moisture and other environmental factors may accelerate deterioration of surface finishes and metal components.
The following are considered normal wear, environmental deterioration or maintenance-related issues and are not manufacturing defects covered by this warranty:
• Scratches, chips, abrasions, dents or impact damage.
• Fading, staining, discolouration or weathering.
• Oxidation, surface rust or surface corrosion.
• Corrosion resulting from damaged, breached or worn coatings exposing bare metal.
• Deterioration caused by coastal, marine, saline, industrial or other corrosive environments.
• Damage caused by pressure washing, steam cleaning, abrasive cleaning methods or aggressive cleaning
chemicals.
• Normal wear and tear associated with commercial, public or high-traffic use.
Surface finish coatings, including painted and powder-coated finishes, are warranted only against defects present at the time of manufacture or delivery and not against deterioration caused by external damage, environmental conditions or general use.
Customer Maintenance Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for the routine inspection and maintenance of painted, coated and powder-coated surfaces.
Any scratches, chips, abrasions or coating damage should be repaired promptly to prevent moisture ingress and further deterioration.
Failure to carry out reasonable maintenance may invalidate any warranty claim relating to corrosion, finish deterioration or related damage.
Warranty Claims Procedure
To make a warranty claim:
a) The purchaser must provide proof of purchase, including a copy of the original invoice.
b) The purchaser must notify Unisort Ltd within 30 days of discovering the alleged defect.
c) Claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period.
d) Claims must include photographs and written details describing the alleged defect.
Unisort Ltd reserves the right to inspect, test, repair, recover or request return of any product subject to a warranty claim before determining liability or eligibility.
Failure to provide timely notification may affect Unisort Ltd’s ability to investigate the claim and may result in the claim being rejected.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or failure resulting from:
a) Excessive temperature variation, dampness, humidity or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
b) Incorrect siting, relocation, dragging, mishandling or movement over kerbs, steps or thresholds.
c) Unauthorised modification, repair or alteration.
d) Improper installation, assembly, use or maintenance.
e) Incorrect fixing methods, anchoring systems, foundations, site preparation or installation undertaken by the purchaser or third parties.
f) Use of the product for purposes other than its intended function.
g) Damage caused during transportation by third-party couriers, installers or carriers.
h) Vandalism, misuse, abuse, negligence or accidental damage.
i) Normal wear and tear.
j) Natural disasters, acts of God or circumstances beyond Unisort Ltd’s reasonable control.
k) Cosmetic deterioration that does not affect structural integrity or intended function.
l) Corrosion, oxidation or finish deterioration resulting from environmental exposure or inadequate maintenance.
Commercial and Public Environment Use
Products installed in public, educational, transport, healthcare, leisure, hospitality or other high-use environments may experience accelerated wear, cosmetic deterioration and surface finish degradation.
Such deterioration does not in itself constitute a manufacturing defect covered by this warranty.
Warranty Remedies
Upon validation of a warranty claim, Unisort Ltd may, at its sole discretion:
• Supply replacement parts.
• Repair the product.
• Replace the product with an equivalent model.
• Provide a refund equal to the original purchase price paid.
Any repaired or replacement product shall remain covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.
Replacement Parts and Product Improvements
Where replacement parts are supplied as a warranty remedy, Unisort Ltd reserves the right to provide equivalent replacement components where original components are no longer available or have been superseded.
Replacement products supplied under warranty may differ in design, specification, colour, finish or appearance from the original product provided they perform an equivalent function.
Exact colour, texture, finish or appearance matching cannot be guaranteed.
Unisort Ltd reserves the right to introduce product improvements and design changes without obligation to modify previously supplied products.
Limitation of Liability
Unisort Ltd’s liability under this warranty is limited to repair, replacement or refund of the defective product.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the warranty covers the product only and does not include labour costs, installation costs, removal costs, transportation costs, site attendance costs, equipment hire costs or any associated third-party expenses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unisort Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of revenue or loss of use.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits any statutory rights available under applicable consumer protection legislation. Consumers retain all rights provided under UK law.
Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This warranty and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales except where applicable consumer protection legislation provides otherwise.
Modifications
Unisort Ltd reserves the right to amend or update this warranty from time to time. Any amendments shall apply only to products purchased after the revised warranty takes effect.
